At home I use it for typical things:

• home finance -- this is a tcl based utility. Because the files maintained are text files, you can use standard UN*X utilities to generate many custom reports.
• WEB
• email -- I tend to use mutt a lot more than thunderbird
• documents
• BOINC -- These are the projects I run: World Community Grid, Cosmology@home, Rosetta@home and this has a summary of my stats.
• I also use it for general development and testing the apps I work on, I want to make sure any apps I develop on AIX will also compile/work on GNU/Linux. Slackware is a perfect development system.

The Window Managers (WM) I favor are fvwm2 and vtwm they are somewhat similar, but have different capabilities. These are some fvwm2 themes and vtwm themes I created over the years. Due to changes with fvwm 2.6+ I spend most of my time in fvwm.

• xplanet -- Xplanet does not work too good with KDE, but I had it working but it stopped working around the time 4.5 was release. If I ever get it working again I will post my notes here.
